USE THE MUSE III Submission Deadline Extended + Entry Form
Monday, October 12, 2009 at 10:33PM Dear USE THE MUSE Participants,
I am officially extending the deadline of submission for USE THE MUSE III to accommodate for some packages that did not make it to their International destinations as early as I would have liked. The new deadline is November 9th, 2009 (giving you an additional 3 weeks to complete your entry). This gives more time for all of you to work on your submission and take photos. I had a small handful of you post on my forum or email me that a kit has not made it to you yet . I have just received some additional Muses to complete extra kits to resend to those few people. Every contest there are always a few packages that get sent back to me or get lost in the mail. If your initial kit shows up too late for you to use for your schedule, you can return it and I can pass it along to someone who wanted to participate but was unable to because the kits were sold out. Last event almost all of the people who didn't initially receive a kit and requested a replacement ended up with two kits and sent one back to me because the first one was just caught up in the mail service. It's very important for me that everyone feels like they have had enough time to work on their entry, that the International Participants feel like this is a contest that they can enter, and that they have enough time to complete their project - therefore I feel an extension is the best solution at this stage in the game.
For all of you who would like to begin submitting your entry here is the link: http://jotform.com/form/91903233189
If you would like to order anymore of the items from the kit to add to your project, they are all in one place at Artbeads.com and you can use this link: http://www.artbeads.com/use-the-muse-contest-iii.html
I'll be sending an email with this submission form link to the address attached to your Paypal account as well in the coming days, but to be on the safe side I am also posting here as I have noted from last time that not everybody keeps up with that email address, and these things easily get lost in spam folders.
I have been on the road and am still working through a list of participant emails I am responding to. I try to personally address all issues in a timely manner, just please know I'm playing a game of catch-up and should have addressed all comments and concerns in the coming days. If it's been a while and you haven't heard from me, please resend your email so I can get back to you. With so many of you asking similar questions it's easy to mistake I've responded to your query, but indeed it was a different participant.
I have received so many positive emails about people discovering new creative paths with the latest USE THE MUSE color palette, I am so thrilled to see what you all have come up with! Looking forward to your entries!

Oh my, I am glad you posted! I was getting concerned about all of this! I am one of the Internationals, who haven't received the kit yet. Looking forward to your e-mail in the next days and off course, the Kit!
I am very happy you extended the submission-date!
Thank you for the post and extension Scarlett! Cannot wait to see what the muse looks like this go around :-D.
Glad you posted again! I was a bit worried about you!
Thank you for clearing this up and allowing more time.
Hi Scarlett, thanks for the link. I am having a problem accessing it. Says your Jotform account is over limit.
Thank you for your response and update on your blog. However, when I tried the link for the "jotform" I received an error message. It is that time of year I guess. I know you will get all the wrinkles ironed out! LOL Have a wonderful day!
I'm also getting the Error message from the link saying that I'm over the limit...hope that gets fixed soon, my entry is ready to go! :) Thank you for all your hard work, Scarlett!
What happened to the forum? Is it coming back?
Hi Kate: The forum is down while I comb through all the comments and address any questions personally. I will put it back up when I feel like I've answered all the questions. I was getting questions there and in two email accounts and I just need to sort it all out. -Scarlett
UPDATE: For any of you who tried the link for the submission form and were getting an error page, the problem has been fixed! I just had too many participants entering at once, but I have increased my account to allow for everyone to enter now. Sorry for the inconvenience, the link should be functioning normally now. Thanks to those of you who gave me a heads up in the comments!
YAY! Thank you for extending the deadline!
Yay, thanks for the extension. Very much appreciated!
Scarlett, thanks for much for hosting this contest and for all the information you've included on your site. I've discovered picassa and wordcountool amongst the beautiful beadwork. This was my first beadwork competition and it was both rewarding and informative. I can't wait for the big day. It always amazes me how different the work using the same pile of treasures.
Hi Scarlett,
Just a quick note to let you and your readers know that I am giving away a free copy of "Beading with World Beads" It's published by Lark books and is signed by the editor! I thought your readers might be interested to know about it! Another fun thing on the web :)
Many thanks for all of your support -
Best wishes!
Sue
Thanks for the extension Scarlett - very much appreciated .... I've uploaded mine today, hopefully you've got it. :)

ok... so those of you who have particpated in more than one "Use the Muse"... was it more exciting the first time, or this most recent time? ( this was my first participation, really enjoyed it so far... )
Nancy ... I get excited about anything I enter. I never expect to win, but it's the simple pleasure of pushing my creativity that little bit further to come up with something I would never had thought to do. That's why I love challenges like this.
So, in answer to your question - I found this one just as exciting as the Muse II.
I am so much happier with my entry this time than last time, so I would say for me, the excitement has remained! ;)
:)
This was the first time I participated in a non-local challenge and I was very excited to do so! Good to hear that it gets better and not weaker! Already looking forward to the next one. I tend to be attracted to the same colors over and over, or I do a repetition of something I had done before so this was a good creative challenge. I like the "muse" aspect too!
Looking forward to the great unveiling!
Good luck to everyone! ( and how many times will I be saying "darn, I wish I had thought of that! but I can do something similar with xxxx I have over here..." )
I am waiting.... like all of you... for the BIG REVEAL.... any news of WHEN that will be?
I too am super anxious for the BIG REVEAL! I bet there were more submissions than usual...How exciting! :-) Can't wait!
